The NXP® MC34978AEK is a Multi-Switch Detection Interface (MSDI) device that detects the closure and opening of up to 22 switch contacts in industrial control environments.
- The switch status (on or off) is transmitted to the microprocessor via a serial peripheral interface (SPI).
- The SMARTMOS® device also features a 24-to-1 analogue multiplexer for reading analogue inputs.
- Input currents can be selected one by one in normal mode and low power mode (LPM) according to the application requirements.
- Battery and temperature monitors are included in the IC and are available through the AMUX pin.
- This product can be connected to any microcontroller that supports SPI communication
