The MAX25613BATP/VY is a single-channel, high-current IR LED driver for automotive driver monitoring systems (DMS). The devices support driving LED strings with input voltages from 5V to 48V and a maximum output voltage of 55V. The MAX25613 operates with Maxim's proprietary dual-control architecture to achieve high LED drive capability while minimising di/dt on the battery harness.

The MAX25613BATP/VY detects the output current on the high side of the LED string. High-side current detection is necessary to protect against output shorts to ground or battery inputs. PWM inputs are available to provide LED dimming ratios up to 5000:1, and ICTRL inputs are used to provide additional analogue dimming functionality. the MAX25613 also supports fault markers to indicate LED shorts to battery, LED shorts to ground, LED opens, and thermal shutdowns for these functions. the MAX25613 has built-in spread-spectrum The MAX25613BATP/VY is available in a space-saving (4mm × 4mm), 20-pin, side-mounted, moisture-resistant TQFN package and operates over the automotive-grade temperature range of -40°C to +125°C. The MAX25613BATP/VY is also available in a low-profile (4mm × 4mm), 20-pin, side-mounted, moisture-resistant TQFN package.
