The LTC3643IUDD is a bi-directional synchronous step-up charger and buck converter capable of efficiently charging an array of up to 40V capacitors using an input supply with a voltage between 3V and 17V. When the input supply drops below the programmable power-failure threshold, the boost charger operates in reverse as a synchronous buck regulator to supply the system voltage rails from the backup capacitors in the event of such a power interruption/failure.
