The INA301A2QDGKRQ1 consists of a high common-mode current sense amplifier and a high-speed comparator that provides overcurrent protection by measuring the voltage across the current sense or shunt resistor and comparing that voltage to a defined threshold limit. The device has an adjustable limit threshold range that is set by a single external limit setting resistor. The shunt monitor is capable of measuring differential voltage signals over a common mode voltage range of 0V to 36V, independent of supply voltage.

The open-drain alarm output can be configured in either transparent mode (output state is the same as the input state) or latching mode (alarm output is cleared on reset latching). With an alarm response time of less than 1 µs, the device provides fast detection of overcurrent events.

The device operates from a single 2.7V-5.5V supply and draws a maximum supply current of 700 µA. The device is rated for operation over the extended temperature range of -40°C to +125°C and is available in an 8-pin VSSOP package.
