The INA301-Q1 consists of a high common mode current sense amplifier and a high speed comparator that provides overcurrent protection by measuring the voltage across the current sense or shunt resistor and comparing this voltage to a defined threshold limit. The device has an adjustable limiting threshold range which is set by a single external limit setting resistor. The shunt monitor is capable of measuring differential voltage signals over a common mode voltage range of 0V to 36V, independent of the supply voltage.
The open-drain alarm output can be configured in either transparent mode (where the output state remains the same as the input state) or latch mode (where the alarm output is cleared when the latch is reset). With an alarm response time of less than 1 µs, the device is capable of quickly detecting overcurrent events.
The device is rated for operation over an extended temperature range of -40°C to +125°C and is packaged in an 8-pin VSSOP.
