The MAX16975BAEE/V is a 1.2A current-mode buck converter with an integrated high-side switch. The device has an input voltage of 3.5V to 28V and a no-load quiescent current of only 45FA. The switching frequency is adjustable from 220kHz to 1.0MHz, requires only one external resistor, and can be synchronised to an external clock. The device's output voltage is pin-selectable to a fixed 5V or adjustable from 1V to 10V with an external resistor. The wide input voltage range makes the device ideal for automotive and industrial applications. The device operates in frequency hopping mode to reduce current consumption under light load conditions. A reset threshold helps the microcontroller maintain operation at the lowest specified input voltage. Normal operation is maintained at the lowest specified input voltage. Protection features include cycle-by-cycle current limiting, soft start, overvoltage, and automatic recovery thermal shutdown.
