The AD7985BCPZ is a 16-bit, 2.5 MSPS successive approximation analogue-to-digital converter (SAR ADC). It has a built-in low-power, high-speed, 16-bit sampling ADC, an internal conversion clock, an internal reference voltage source (and buffer), error correction circuitry, and a versatile serial interface port. On the rising edge of CNV, the AD7985 samples the analogue input voltage difference between IN+ and IN- from 0 V to REF. The device features two sampling modes: a very high sampling rate turbo mode (TURBO is high); and a low-power normal mode (TURBO is low) for low-power applications, where power consumption is proportional to throughput.
In normal mode (TURBO is low), the SPI-compatible serial interface is also capable of daisy-chaining several ADCs onto a single three-wire bus using the SDI inputs and providing an optional busy-idle indication. It is compatible with 1.8 V, 2.5 V, and 2.7 V supplies when using a separate power supply (VIO).
The AD7985BCPZ is available in a 20-pin LFCSP package and operates over the -40°C to +85°C temperature range.
