The ISO3082DWR is a high-performance isolated RS-485/RS-422 transceiver chip manufactured by Texas Instruments.

With the ground loop broken, these devices can operate over a significantly wider common-mode voltage range, making them highly suitable for long-distance transmission lines. Testing confirms that the symmetrical isolation layer provides 2500V RMS isolation for 60 seconds between the bus transceiver and logic-level interface, in accordance with UL 1577 standards.

All cabled I/O are susceptible to electrical transient noise from various signal sources. Such transients, if sufficiently intense and prolonged, may damage transceivers or adjacent sensitive circuitry. These isolated devices significantly enhance protection levels and reduce the risk of costly control circuit damage.

The ISO3082DWR device is suitable for operation within the temperature range of –40°C to +85°C.
