The MAX3221CAE is a single-channel, true RS-232 transceiver with an integrated charge pump that requires only a single +3 V to +5.5 V power supply to generate standard ±5 V RS-232 levels. Features AutoShutdown™ intelligent power-saving functionality, which automatically shuts down the charge pump and driver after 30 µs of no valid signal detection, with a shutdown current of only 1 µA, making it ideal for battery-powered or power-sensitive applications.
