The ADCLK946BCPZ is an ultra-fast clock fan-out buffer manufactured using ADI's proprietary XFCB3 silicon-germanium (SiGe) bipolar process. This device is designed for high-speed applications requiring low jitter performance.

The ADCLK946BCPZ device features a differential input with a centre tap, differential, and 100 Ω on-chip termination resistors. It supports DC-coupled LVPECL, CML, and 3.3 V CMOS (single-ended) inputs, as well as AC-coupled 1.8 V CMOS, LVDS, and LVPECL inputs. The VREF pin can be used to provide bias for AC-coupled inputs.

The ADCLK946BCPZ features six full-swing emitter-coupled logic (ECL) output drivers. For LVPECL (positive ECL) outputs, VCC is biased to the positive power supply, and VEE is biased to ground. For ECL outputs, VCC is biased to ground, and VEE is biased to the negative power supply.

The ECL output stage is designed to directly drive 800 mV per side to a 50 Ω resistor terminated between VCC and 2 V, resulting in a total differential output swing of 1.6 V.

The ADCLK946BCPZ is packaged in a 24-pin LFCSP and is rated for the standard industrial temperature range of −40°C to +85°C.
