Product Description

The TPS54331DR device is a 28V, 3A asynchronous buck converter with an integrated high-side MOSFET featuring low R DS(on). To improve efficiency under light load conditions, the pulse-skipping Eco-mode feature is automatically activated. Additionally, the 1µA shutdown supply current makes this device suitable for battery-powered applications. Current-mode control with internal slope compensation simplifies external compensation calculations and reduces component count while allowing the use of ceramic output capacitors. A resistor divider programs the hysteresis for input under-voltage lockout. Overvoltage transient protection circuits limit voltage overshoot during startup and transient conditions. Cycle-by-cycle current limiting, frequency foldback, and thermal shutdown features protect the device and load under overload conditions. The TPS54331DR device is available in an 8-pin SOIC package and an 8-pin SO PowerPAD integrated circuit package, both of which are internally optimised to improve thermal performance.
