The TPS55010RTER is a transformer driver designed to provide a 3.3V or 5V isolated input power supply for isolated interfaces such as RS-485 and RS-232.

The TPS55010RTER employs fixed-frequency current-mode control and a half-bridge power stage with primary-side feedback to stabilise the output voltage up to a 2W power rating. The switching frequency is adjustable within the range of 100kHz to 2000kHz, enabling optimisation of the solution's size, efficiency, and noise immunity. The switching frequency is set by a resistor or synchronised with an external clock via the RT/CLK pin. To minimise inrush current, a small capacitor can be connected to the SS pin. The EN pin can be used as an enable pin or to increase the default input UVLO voltage from 2.6V.

By using the same transformer, the TPS55010RTER can adjust the primary-side voltage to provide solutions for different input and output voltage combinations. Existing transformers can provide single positive output voltage, dual positive output voltage, and dual negative output voltage.

The TPS55010RTER is available in a 3mm x 3mm 16-pin QFN package with a heat sink pad.
