Battery Management Automotive General Purpose SPI to Isolated SPI Transceiver

Product Description

The L9963T is a general-purpose SPI-to-isolated SPI transceiver designed to establish a communication bridge between devices operating in different voltage domains. The L9963T can also transmit communication data from a traditional 4-wire SPI interface to a 2-wire isolated interface (and vice versa). The L9963T transceiver supports transformer and capacitive isolation, as the isolated signals generated according to a proprietary protocol can be transmitted through two decoupling circuits. The L9963T can be configured as either a slave or master device on the SPI bus and supports any protocol consisting of SPI frames ranging from 8 to 64 bits in length. The transceiver manages data transmission but does not perform any protocol checks.


When configured as a slave device, the SPI peripheral can operate at frequencies up to 10 MHz. When configured as a master device, the SPI clock frequency is programmable (250 kHz, 1 MHz, 4 MHz, 8 MHz). The isolated SPI peripheral supports two different operating modes: Slow @ 333kbps和快速@2.66Mbps. Asynchronous execution between the two sides is internally managed, allowing all possible configuration frequencies to be used on both peripherals in the application.


The L9963T features an internal queue with 3 time slots for frames received by the SPI port, plus a queue with 20 time slots for frames received by the isolated SPI side. This enables buffering and decoupling of two different clock domains. The device is natively compatible with the L9963 isolated SPI, enabling its use in BMS applications. The L9963T is compatible with both 3.3 V and 5 V logic.
