Product Description

The MC33779ATA1AE chip is a battery management chip launched by NXP, mainly used in the automotive electronics field, supporting application scenarios such as hybrid electric vehicles (HEV), pure electric vehicles (EV), and industrial energy storage systems (ESS). It has the following key features:

Current measurement

4 current measurement inputs (supporting 2 ASIL D current measurements) :

Each input has one precision ADC (27-bit, 1kHz).

Each input has one fast ADC (16-bit, 125kHz).

Support Hall sensor measurement (5V range)

The shunt temperature drift compensation is carried out by using an external temperature sensor

One Coulomb counter per channel

Overcurrent detection (threshold, di/dt calculation, fuse blow simulation)

Supports switchable architecture (2 x 400V/800V), and can calculate the current between battery packs in real time

General measurement

16 measurement inputs, supporting up to 8 redundant measurements (16 bits, 1kHz)

Overvoltage and undervoltage detection

Multiplexing, with 2 x 8 GPIO

Event Manager

Input event sets from other modules (overcurrent detection, fuse simulation, overvoltage detection and digital input)
