The TPS92629QDGNRQ1 single-channel LED driver includes a unique thermal management design to reduce the temperature rise of the device.The TPS92629QDGNRQ1 is a linear driver powered directly from an automotive battery with a large voltage variation that can output up to 250 mA of full current load. An external shunt resistor is used to share the output current and dissipate power from the driver. The device's full diagnostic capabilities include open LED, shorted LED, shorted LED to battery circuit, and device over-temperature protection. The high accuracy and optimised slew rate of the analogue dimming control supports off-board long-wire driving, enhances EMC performance and eliminates flicker and ghosting issues, and afterimage problems. Multiple faults can be reported at different voltage levels via fault pins for safety critical applications.
