The LTC6561IUF is a low-noise, four-channel, transimpedance amplifier (TIA) with a 220MHz bandwidth.The LTC6561IUF multichannel transimpedance amplifier features low noise, high impedance, and low power consumption, making it suitable for LIDAR receivers using avalanche photodiodes (APDs). The amplifier has a transimpedance gain of 74kΩ and a linear input current range of 30µA. The input current noise density at 200MHz is 4.5pA/√Hz using an APD input circuit with a total capacitance of 2pF. Noise and bandwidth are further improved with lower capacitance. The device requires only a single 5V supply and consumes only 220 mW. Multiple 4-channel LTC6561IUF devices can be combined to directly interface with 12-, 16-, and 32-channel APD arrays using the internal 4-to-1 multiplexer and the LTC6561IUF's output multiplexer.
The fast overload recovery and fast channel switching characteristics of the LTC6561IUF make it suitable for LIDAR receivers with multiple APDs. Its single-ended outputs can swing 2VP-P under 100Ω loads, while its low-impedance op-amp-type outputs can drive 50Ω cables terminated to the rear.
The LTC6561IUF is housed in a compact 4mm x 4mm 24-pin leadless QFN package with bare pads for thermal management and low inductance.
