The LTC3805IDD is a current mode controller for flyback DC/DC converters designed to drive an N-channel MOSFET in high input and output voltage converter applications. The operating frequency and slope compensation can be set using external resistors. A programmable overcurrent detection circuit protects the converter from short-circuit damage. The soft-start function can be set with an external capacitor, and the soft-start capacitor is also used to set an automatic restart function.

The LTC3805IDD provides ±1.5% output voltage accuracy and has a quiescent current consumption of only 360μA during normal operation and 40μA during micropower startup. Using a 9.5V internal shunt regulator, the LTC3805IDD can be powered from the high VIN through a resistor or directly from a low impedance DC voltage of 9V or less. The LTC3805IDD can be powered from a high VIN through a resistor or directly from a low impedance DC voltage of 9V or less using a 9.5V internal shunt regulator.
