The HMC521ALC4TR is a compact gallium arsenide (GaAs) monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) in-phase quadrature (I/Q) mixer in a RoHS compliant 24-terminal ceramic leadless chip carrier (LCC) package. The device can be used as either an image rejection mixer or a single-side upconverter. The mixer uses two standard double-balanced mixer units and a 90° hybrid coupler, and is manufactured using the GaAs metal semiconductor field effect transistor (MESFET) process. The smaller size of the device allows it to be used as a replacement for hybrid image suppression mixers and single-sideband up-converters.The HMC521ALC4TR requires no wiring and therefore can be manufactured using surface mount manufacturing techniques.
