The AD5398BCPZ is a single-channel 10-bit DAC with 120 mA output current-sucking capability. It has a built-in reference voltage source and is powered from a single 2.7 V to 5.5 V supply. The DAC is controlled via a two-wire (I2C-compatible) serial interface and is capable of operating at clock rates up to 400 kHz.

The AD5398BCPZ has a built-in power-up reset circuit that ensures that the DAC output powers up to 0 V and holds that level until a valid write operation is performed. The AD5398 is designed for autofocus, image stabilisation, and optical zoom applications in camera phones, digital cameras, and compact camcorders, with power-saving features that reduce the device's power consumption to 1 µA (maximum) in power-saving mode.

The AD5398BCPZ is also suitable for many industrial applications such as temperature, light and motion control, and operates reliably over the -40°C to +85°C temperature range.

The AD5398BCPZ has an I2C address range of 0x18 to 0x1F inclusive.
