The AD9789BBCZ is a flexible, high-performance, 2400 MSPS, 14-bit RF digital-to-analog converter (DAC) that integrates a QAM encoder, interpolator, and upconverter. The flexible digital interface can accept complex data of up to four channels. QAM encoders support constellation dimensions of 16, 32, 64, 128 and 256, and SRRC filter coefficients are suitable for all standards.

The AD9789 has a built-in serial peripheral interface (SPI) for device configuration and status register read-back. The flexible digital interface can be configured with 4 -, 8 -, 16 - and 32-bit data bus widths. And can accept real or complex data.

Product features

A single module contains a highly integrated configurable QAM mapper, interpolator, and upconverter that can directly synthesize 1 to 4 DOCSIS or DVB-C compatible channels.

With low noise and cross-modulation distortion (IMD) performance, high quality synthesis of signals up to 1 GHz is possible.

The flexible data interface supports LVDS input data, which improves SFDR, or CMOS input data, which is suitable for less demanding applications.

The interface can be configured in the 4-bit half-byte to 32-bit word range and can operate at up to 150 MHz CMOS or 150 MHz LVDS double data rate (DDR).

The AD9789 is manufactured in a CMOS process and utilizes proprietary switching technology to enhance dynamic performance.
