The MAX25612BATP/VY+ is a single-channel high-brightness LED (HB LED) driver suitable for automotive headlamp applications such as high beam, low beam, daytime running light (DRL), turn signal, fog light, and other LED lights. The device drives LED strings from 5V to 48V input voltages with a maximum output voltage of 65V. The MAX25612BATP/VY+ is fully synchronous and ideal for boost and boost/buck applications requiring synchronous rectification with efficiencies above 90%.

The MAX25612BATP/VY+ detects the output current on the high side of the LED string. High-side current sensing is required to protect the output from shorting to ground or the battery input, and is the most flexible method of driving LEDs, supporting boost, high-side buck, or boost/buck mode configurations. PWM inputs provide LED dimming ratios up to 5000:1, and ICTRL inputs provide additional analog dimming capability for the MAX25612BATP/VY+. The MAX25612BATP/ VY+ also supports FLT fault marking for indicator string opens, shorts and thermal shutdown. With built-in spread spectrum modulation for improved EMC performance, the MAX25612BATP/VY+ is available in a space-saving (4mm × 4mm), 20-pin side-mounted, moisture-proof TQFN package or 20-pin TSSOP package and operates over the -40°C to +125°C automotive-grade temperature range.
