The HMC6147ALC5A is a compact GaAs MMIC I/Q down converter in a pinless RoHS compliant SMT package. The device provides 13 dB of small-signal conversion gain with 25 dBc sideband rejection. The HMC6147ALC5A uses a low noise amplifier to drive the I/Q mixer, with the LO driven by an X2 multiplier. IF1 and IF2 mixer inputs are provided and the desired sideband can be selected by external 90° mixing.

The I/Q mixer topology reduces the requirement for filtering against interfering sidebands. The HMC6147ALC5A is a smaller alternative to hybrid single sideband converters and supports surface mount fabrication technology, eliminating the need for wire bonding.
