The HMC6787ALC5A is a compact GaAs MMIC I/Q variable gain upconverter in a pinless RoHS compliant SMT package. The device provides 11 dB of small-signal conversion gain with 17 dBc sideband rejection and 13 dB of gain control. 

The HMC6787ALC5A features an RF variable gain amplifier preceded by an I/Q mixer with LO driven by an X2 multiplier. IF1 and IF2 mixer inputs are provided and the desired sideband can be selected by external 90° mixing. The I/Q mixer topology reduces the requirement for filtering against interfering sidebands.
