Product Description

The TPS63060DSCR device provides a power solution for products using three to six cell alkaline, NiCd or NiMH batteries, or single or dual cell Li-Ion or Li-Polymer batteries. When using dual-cell Li-ion or Li-polymer batteries, the output current can be up to 2A and can be discharged to 5V or lower. The buck-boost converter is based on a fixed frequency, pulse width modulated (PWM) controller that uses synchronous rectification for maximum efficiency. At low load currents, the converter enters power save mode to maintain high efficiency over a wide range of load currents. The power save mode can be disabled, forcing the converter to operate at a fixed switching frequency. The maximum average current in the switch is limited to a typical value of 2.25A. The output voltage can be programmed via an external resistive divider or fixed internally on the chip. The converter can be disabled to minimise the consumption of the battery. During shutdown, the load is disconnected from the battery.


The device is available in a 3mm x 3mm, 10-pin, WSON (DSC) package.
