The PTN3393 is a DisplayPort to VGA adapter IC that connects a DisplayPort source to a VGA receiver. The PTN3393 integrates a DisplayPort receiver and a high speed triple video digital-to-analogue converter to support display resolutions from VGA to WUXGA.

DisplayPort v1.1a single or dual channel operation at 2.7 Gbits/s or 1.62 Gbits/s per channel is supported.

Supports "Flash over Aux (programming via auxiliary channel)" capability for firmware upgrades in the field.

Supports DisplayPort v1.1a compliant 'Auxiliary Channel I²C', which bridges VESA and DDC channels to the DisplayPort interface.

Designed for a single power supply to minimise application costs. It can be powered directly from the 3.3 V supply on the source side of the DisplayPort without the need for an additional core voltage regulator. VGA output power is switched off when no valid DisplayPort source data is being transmitted. Monitoring detection is also assisted by performing load sensing and reporting the receiver connection status to the DisplayPort source.
