The DS280BR810 is an ultra-low-power, high-performance eight-channel linear equalizer that supports multi-rate, multi-protocol interfaces with data transfer rates up to 28Gbps. The device can be used to extend the length range and improve the robustness of high-speed serial links for front-port, backplane, and chip-to-chip applications. 

The linear nature of the DS280BR810 equalizer preserves the characteristics of the transmit signal, thus allowing the host to freely negotiate transmit equalizer coefficients (100G-CR4/KR4) with the link partner ASIC. Transparent management of this link negotiation protocol facilitates system-level interoperability with minimal latency impact. Each channel operates independently, allowing the DS280BR810 to perform channel-independent forward error correction (FEC).

The DS280BR810 is combination of small package size, optimized high-speed signal exit, and pin-compatible retimers make it ideal for high-density backplane applications. With simplified equalization control, low power consumption, and ultra-low additive jitter, the device is suitable for front-end interfaces such as 100G-SR4/LR4/CR4. 8mm x 13mm small form factor packages such as QSFP28, SFP28, CFP2/CFP4 and CDFP fit many standard front port connectors and do not require a heatsink.
