The ADUM4177WBRNZ is a high-performance isolated gate driver that uses Analog Devices' iCoupler® technology to provide 5.7 kV RMS isolation. The ADuM4177 comes in a 28-pin wide-body SOIC package that provides 8.3 mm creepage range. This device is suitable for applications where 1060 V RMS and 1500 V DC operating voltages need to be isolated over the lifetime of the device.
The ADuM4177 has an input voltage range of 4.4V to 7V. If VDD2 and VSS2 are in the 15 V to 23 V range, the output voltage can drive a bipolar gate driver, which has a positive voltage of 12 V to 23 V and a negative rail voltage of −5 V to −3.25 V. Multiple programmable undervoltage protection (UVLO) levels can be obtained by SPI communication with the gate driver. The ADuM4177 has the advantage of true electrical isolation between input and output compared to gate drivers using the high voltage level switching method.
