The MAX22213ATJ provides four individually controllable 36V, 3.8AMAX half H-bridge drivers. It can be used to drive four solenoids, two brushed DC motors, a stepper motor, or a combination of different loads.
The power FETs have very low impedance, resulting in high drive efficiency and low heat generation. Typical total RON (HV side plus LV side) is 0.25Ω (typical). Each half-bridge can be individually PWM controlled with two logic inputs (DIN_, EN_).
The MAX22213ATJ integrates non-dissipative current sensing, eliminating the bulky external power resistor normally required for this function, resulting in significant space and power savings compared to mainstream applications based on external sensing resistors. A current proportional to the internal sensed load current is output to the external current monitor pins (ISEN_). By connecting external resistors to these pins, a voltage proportional to the motor current can be generated. The voltage drop across the external resistor can be fed into the controller ADC when current/torque information is required by the control algorithm.
