The LMR14030SQDDARQ1 device is a 40V, 3.5A buck regulator with an integrated high-side metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor (MOSFET). With a wide input voltage range of 4V to 40V, this device is suitable for regulating unregulated power supplies in a wide range of applications from industrial to automotive. The regulators have a quiescent current of 40µA in sleep mode, making them ideal for battery powered systems. The regulator has an ultra-low current of 1µA in off mode, which further extends battery life. The regulator's wide range of adjustable switching frequencies allows efficiency or external component size to be optimised. Internal loop compensation means that the user does not have to undertake the tedious task of designing loop compensation components. It is also possible to minimise the number of external components in the device. The precision enable input simplifies regulator control and system power routing. In addition, a variety of protection functions are built in: cycle-by-cycle current limit protection, thermal sensing and thermal shutdown protection against excessive power consumption, and output overvoltage protection. The LMR14030-Q1 is available in an 8-pin HSOIC or 10-pin WSON package with exposed pads for low thermal resistance.
