The LTC4420IMSE is a dual-input monolithic PowerPath™ Prioritiser with low operating current that provides backup switching to keep critical circuits functioning in the event of power drops and brownouts. Unlike diode-OR products, there is virtually no current draw from the passive power supply, even if the inactive power supply has a higher voltage than the diode-OR. Internal 2Ω current-limited PMOS switches provide a choice of power paths from the main input (V1) or backup input (V2) to the output. Two adjustable voltage monitors are set via an external resistor divider for flexible V1 to V2 switching and V2 undervoltage thresholds.V1 is monitored continuously, while V2 power monitoring includes controlled low duty cycle UV monitoring. The ADJ monitor switches OUT to V2 when the main input V1 drops, and is disconnected from OUT if V2DIS is zero when V2 drops.
