The LTC4414IMS8 controls an external P-channel MOSFET to create a near-ideal diode function for power switching. This allows the power supply to be efficiently OR'd to extend battery life and reduce its own heat generation. The voltage drop across the MOSFET is typically 20mV when on, and for applications using a wall adapter or other auxiliary power supply, the load is automatically disconnected from the battery when the auxiliary power supply is on. Two or more LTC4414s can be interconnected to enable switching or charging between multiple batteries. Switch between multiple batteries or charge multiple batteries from a single charger.
