The LM25180QNGURQ1 device is a primary side voltage regulator (PSR) flyback converter with high efficiency over a wide input voltage range of 4.5V to 42V. The isolated output voltage is sampled from the flyback voltage on the primary side, so there is no need to use the optocoupler, voltage reference, or third winding of the transformer for output voltage regulation. The high level of integration enables simple and reliable high-density designs where only one component passes through the isolation layer. The use of Boundary Conducting Mode (BCM) switching enables a compact magnetic solution and better than ±1.5% load and line regulation performance.
