The LMR36506MSC5RPERQ1 is the industry's ultra-compact 65V, 0.6A synchronous step-down DC/DC converter in a 2mm x 2mm HotRod™ package. With few external components and a simple PCB layout, this robust and highly reliable converter handles input voltage transients up to 70V, provides excellent EMI performance, and supports fixed 3.3V, 5V, and other adjustable output voltages. The LMR36506MSC5RPERQ1 features a peak current mode control architecture with internal compensation to maintain stable operation and very low input capacitance over a wide switching frequency range of 200kHz to 2.2MHz. The LMR36506MSC5RPERQ1 continues to operate with input voltages dropping to as low as 3V, making it ideal for automotive wide input power supplies subjected to harsh cold start pulses. The LMR36506MSC5RPERQ1's open-drain power-normal output feature, along with its interference filter and delayed-release feature, provides a true indication of the output voltage state, eliminating the need for an external monitor. Seamless conversion from FPWM to PFM and very low standby quiescent current enable high efficiency at ultra-low output load conditions.The MODE/SYNC pin type helps to synchronise the LMR36506MSC5RPERQ1 to an external clock, or to select the Pulse Frequency Modulation (PFM) mode, for even higher efficiency at ultra-low output load conditions. The LMR36506MSC5RPERQ1's compact solution size and rich feature set are designed to simplify the implementation of a wide range of automotive-type end devices.
