The TPS62097QWRGTRQ1 device is a synchronous buck converter optimised for use in high efficiency and noise critical applications. This device is designed for high efficiency conversion over a wide range of output currents. The converter operates in PWM mode at moderate to heavy loads and automatically enters power saving operation mode at light loads. The switching frequency can be selected from 1.5MHz to 2.5MHz using an external resistor. iDCS-Control enables low-noise operation at a constant switching frequency in forced PWM mode. To address the needs of the system power rails, the internal compensation circuitry supports the use of a variety of external output capacitors with capacitance values higher than 150µF. To control inrush current during startup, the device provides a programmable soft-start function with an external capacitor connected to the SS/TR pin, which can also be used in a voltage tracking configuration. The device also incorporates short-circuit protection, power normal, and thermal shutdown.
