The LT8650SHV is a dual step-down regulator that delivers up to 4A continuous current from two channels and up to 5A continuous current from one channel. The dual channels deliver up to 4A continuous current and support loads of up to 6A per channel.The LT8650SHV features a second-generation quiet switcher architecture to minimise EMI emissions while providing high efficiency at high switching frequencies. This includes integrated bypass capacitors to optimise high-frequency current loops and make it easy to achieve excellent EMI performance by eliminating layout sensitivities.The LT8650SHV is a Class H version of the LT8650S. The internal capacitors are of the X8R type to achieve a 150°C temperature rating. This requires the use of an external boost capacitor between the BST node and the SW node between the BST node and the SW node. Burst mode operation has a quiescent current of 6.2μA for high efficiency at low output currents, and forced continuous mode allows operation at a fixed switching frequency over the entire output load range, while spread spectrum operation further reduces EMI emissions. An external VC pin enables optimal loop compensation for fast transient response.
