The LTC2376IMS-20 is a low-noise, low-power, high-speed 20-bit successive approximation register (SAR) ADC with a ±VREF fully differential input range (VREF varies from 2.5V to 5.1V) from a single 2.5V operating supply. It consumes only 5.3mW of power and achieves ±2ppm INL (maximum), no missing codes (at 20 bits), and 104dB SNR.
The LTC2376IMS-20 features a high-speed SPI-compatible serial interface supporting 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, and 5V logic, as well as a daisy-chained mode. 250ksps high throughput rate and no-cycle-delay characteristics make the LTC2376-20 ideal for many high-speed applications. An internal oscillator sets the conversion time, alleviating external timing considerations, and the LTC2376-20 automatically powers down between conversion operations, reducing power consumption with sample rate.
The LTC2376IMS-20 provides a unique Digital Gain Compression (DGC) feature that eliminates negative power to the driver amplifier and maintains the full resolution of the ADC. When enabled, the ADC performs a digital scaling function that transforms the zero-scale code from 0V to 0.1-VREF and the full-scale code from VREF to 0.9-VREF. For a typical reference voltage of 5V, the full-scale input range is now 0.5V to 4.5V, which provides the ability to adjust the power consumption from a single 5.5V to 4.5V. For a typical reference voltage of 5V, the full-scale input range is now 0.5V to 4.5V, which provides enough room to power the driver amplifier from a single 5.5V supply.
