The OPT4048DTSR is a single-chip, high-resolution colour sensor capable of measuring four channels, each with a specifically designed spectral response. Three of the four channels closely match the CIE trichromatic spectra, whilst the fourth channel exhibits a broadband spectral response. Measurements from these channels enable extraction of key characteristics of the illumination environment, such as (i) light intensity (lux), (ii) colour in CIE XY and LUV coordinates, and (iii) correlated colour temperature. The OPT4048DTSR is housed in a compact SOT-5X3 package.

XYZ trichromatic channels closely matched to CIE 1931 spectrum with excellent infrared suppression

Clear broadband channels

High-resolution colour measurement in CIE XY, LUV space, correlated colour temperature (CCT), and ambient illuminance measurement

Semi-logarithmic output with seven binary logarithmic full-scale illuminance ranges, each exhibiting highly linear response

Integrated automatic full-scale illuminance range selection logic, switching measurement ranges based on input light conditions with excellent gain matching between ranges

26-bit effective dynamic range from 2.15 mlux to 144 klux

12 configurable conversion times per channel from 600 µs to 800 ms, suitable for diverse high-speed and high-precision applications

External pin interrupts for hardware synchronous triggering and interrupts

Low operating current: 24 µA with ultra-low standby power consumption: 2 µA

Operating temperature range: –40°C to +85°C

Wide supply voltage range: 1.6V to 3.6V

I/O capable of withstanding 5.5V voltage
