The AD8372ACPZ is a dual-channel, digitally controlled, variable gain amplifier that provides precise gain control, high IP3, and low noise figure. Its outstanding low distortion performance and wide signal bandwidth make the AD8372ACPZ ideal for multi-channel receiver applications.
For wide dynamic range applications, the AD8372ACPZ offers a wide gain range of 41 dB. Its gain can be programmed via a 4-pin, bidirectional serial port. Each channel's serial interface includes a clock, latch, data input line, and data output line.
The AD8372ACPZ uses an external resistor to set the output stage transconductance capability. The RXT1 and RXT2 pins are typically connected to ground via a 2.0 kΩ resistor, setting the maximum gain rating to 31 dB. Adjusting the current-setting resistor allows control over the gain and distortion performance of each channel. This flexible feature is useful for applications requiring a trade-off between power consumption and distortion performance.
The AD8372ACPZ is powered by appropriate logic levels on the ENB1 and ENB2 pins. In power-saving mode, the AD8372ACPZ has a standby current of less than 2.6 mA and provides excellent input-output isolation. The gain setting is maintained in power-saving mode.
The AD8372ACPZ is manufactured using ADI's high-frequency BiCMOS process, offering precise gain control adjustment capabilities and low distortion performance. The AD8372 typically has a static current of 106 mA per channel.
