The DAC8742HPBSR is a HART®, FOUNDATION Fieldbus ™ and PROFIBUS PA compatible low-power modem, suitable for industrial process control and industrial automation data isolation.

In HART mode, the DAC8742HPBSR integrates all necessary circuits to function as a half-duplex HART physical layer modem, operating with the least external filtering components in the slave configuration or the master configuration. In FOUNDATION fieldbus mode, the DAC8742HPBSR integrates all necessary circuits to operate as a half-duplex H1 controller and MAU compatible with FOUNDATION fieldbus.

In HART, FOUNDATION fieldbus or PROFIBUS PA mode, the DAC8742HPBSR can transmit the data stream from the microcontroller through the integrated FIFO connected to the UART interface or SPI interface. The SPI interface includes an SDO pin that supports Daisy chains, various interrupts, and other extended features.
