Product Description

The BQ79616HPAPRQ1 is a functional safety-compliant, automotive-grade battery monitor, balancer, and integrated hardware protector for 12S to 16S battery modules, widely used in high-voltage battery management systems for hybrid and electric vehicles.


BQ79616HPAPRQ1 Product Features

Functional Safety Compliance: Supports ISO 26262 system design with up to ASIL D system capability and up to ASIL D hardware capability.

High Accuracy ADC: ±1.5mV ADC accuracy, supports fast voltage measurements, all channels measured in 128 μs.

Flexible Channel Configuration: Pin-package and software compatible with the BQ79616H-Q1, BQ79614-Q1, and BQ79612-Q1, supporting 16S, 14S, and 12S channel configurations.

Built-in redundant paths: Built-in redundant paths for voltage and temperature diagnostics are provided to enhance system reliability.

Integrated Filter: The rear ADC is configured with a digital low-pass filter to support filtered DC voltage measurements for more accurate power calculations.

Internal battery balancing support: 240mA balancing current with built-in thermal management to automatically suspend and resume balancing based on temperature.

Isolated differential daisy-chain communication: Supports optional ring architecture to ensure communication with both ends of the device stack even when the communication line is down.

Supports multiple communication interfaces: including UART and SPI, and the host interface can be connected via the communication bridge device BQ79600-Q1.

Operating temperature range: -40°C to +125°C for automotive applications.
