The AD5165BUJZ100 is a 2.9 mm x 2.8 mm, compact package solution for 256-bit tuning applications that delivers the same electronic tuning functionality as a mechanical potentiometer or variable resistor, with enhanced resolution, solid-state reliability, and excellent low temperature coefficient performance. The device is available from a supply voltage of 2.7 V to 5.5 V, but has a logic voltage of 1.8 V to VDD. It has very low static power consumption in standby mode, making it ideal for battery-powered applications.

Cursor setup is controlled through a simple three-wire interface. The interface is similar to the SPI® digital interface, but has an inverse chip select feature that reduces logic power consumption to a minimum in the idle state. The resistance value between the cursor and either endpoint of the fixed resistor varies linearly with the digital code transferred to the cursor register.

The AD5165BUJZ100 is powered from a 2.7 V to 5.5 V supply and has a typical standby power consumption of less than 50 nA, making it suitable for battery-powered portable or remote utility applications.
