The ISL22326 integrates two numerically controlled potentiometers (XDCP) and non-volatile memory on a single CMOS integrated circuit. The digital control potentiometers are implemented by a combination of resistive elements and CMOS switches. The position of the wipers is controlled by the user via the I2C bus interface. Each potentiometer has an associated volatile tap register (WR) and a non-volatile initial value register (IVR) which can be read and written directly by the user. The contents of WR control the position of the wipers. At power-up, the device calls the contents of the IVRs of both DCPs to the corresponding WRs.
