The PCA9306DCTR device is a dual bi-directional I 2C and SMBus voltage level converter with an enable (EN) input that operates over the 1.2V to 3.3V REF1 and 1.8V to 5.5V REF2 ranges.

The PCA9306DCTR device allows bi-directional voltage conversion from 1.2V to 5V without the use of a direction pin. The switch has a low on-state resistance (R ON) to establish a connection with minimum propagation delay. When EN is high, the converter switch opens and the SCL1 and SDA1 I/Os are connected to the SCL2 and SDA2 I/Os, respectively, allowing bidirectional data flow between the ports. When EN is low, the converter switch is closed and a high resistance state exists between the ports.

In addition to voltage conversion, the PCA9306DCTR device can be used to isolate a 400kHz bus from a 100kHz bus by controlling the EN pin to disconnect the slower bus during fast mode communication.
