The AK5707ECB is a low-power 16-bit mono ADC with a built-in Acoustic activity Analyzer (AAA) that users can configure to detect specific types of acoustic events. The AK5707 allows the system SoC to sleep until a user-defined qualified audio activity occurs, thereby extending the battery life of connected products.

The AK5707 consumes only 34 μA when AAA listens for target sounds. Once qualified audio activity is detected, the integrated audio buffer starts recording and sends a wake up interrupt to the system SoC. The SoC can then read the AK5707's audio buffer and further analyze the content without missing the audio activity that occurs during startup.

The AK5707's AAA capability is ideal for battery-powered smart security devices that can listen for sounds like broken glass, intercom ringtones, or specific alarm modes. In addition, the AK5707 ADC can be powered on and off independently of the AAA, operating with a power consumption of only 200μA; The ADC's efficiency makes it equally well suited for products such as voice-triggered wearables, which may require continuous audio data to be captured into an integrated buffer.
