The 8A35003E-004AJG8 IEEE 1588 System Synchronizer generates ultra-low jitter precise timing signals based on the IEEE 1588 Precise Time Protocol (PTP) and Synchronous Ethernet (SyncE). The device can be used as a single timing and synchronization source for the system, or two devices can be used as redundant pairs to improve system reliability. The numerical control oscillator (DCO) can be controlled by IEEE 1588 clock recovery servo software running on an external processor.

DPLL complies with the ITU-T G.8262 Synchronous Ethernet (SyncE) standard
IEEE 1588 supports:
DCO can be controlled by external IEEE 1588 software to synthesize Precision Time Protocol (PTP)/IEEE 1588 clocks with a frequency resolution of less than 1.11x10-16
The composite bus simplifies standard procedures for compliance with ITU-T G.8273.2
Precise (1ps) resolution for phase measurement and control
All outputs/inputs can be configured to decode/encode PWM clock signals
PWM can be used to send and receive embedded frame pulses and synchronization pulses, as well as time of Day (ToD) and other data
The device requires a crystal oscillator or fundamental mode crystal: 25MHz to 54MHz
The optional XO_DPLL input allows for a wider range of XO, TCXO or OCXO frequencies (1MHz to 150MHz) for applications requiring high stability of local oscillators.
The serial processor port supports 1MHz I2C or 50MHz SPI
