The MP2672GD-0000 is a highly integrated, flexible switch mode battery charger IC for lithium-ion batteries with two cells connected in series for a wide range of portable applications. The MP2672 operates in boost mode to charge two batteries connected in series when input power is present. When charging is enabled, the MP2672 automatically detects the battery voltage and charges the batteries in three stages: pre-charge, constant current charge, and constant voltage charge. Other features include charge termination and automatic charging.

The MP2672 also features a narrow voltage direct current (NVDC) power structure. When the battery is low, the MP2672 regulates the system output at the lowest voltage level to provide immediate power to the system and simultaneously charges the battery via the battery FET.
