The VL6180V1NR/1 is the latest product based on ST's patented FlightSense™ technology. This is a ground-breaking technology that measures absolute distance regardless of the reflectivity of the object. Instead of estimating distance by measuring the amount of light reflected back from an object, which can be affected by colour and surface, it is possible to accurately measure the time it takes for light to reach the nearest object and be reflected back to the sensor.
