The MAX33073EASA is a series of fail-safe RS-485/RS-422 transceivers that provide ±65V protection against overvoltage conditions on communication bus lines, ensuring robust and reliable protection in harsh industrial environments. Both devices have a common mode range (CMR) of ±40V over VCCH (+4.5V to +5.5V), which exceeds the RS-485 standard requirements (-7V to +12V) for electrically noisy environments where the ground layers of different systems move relative to each other. A high ESD protection circuit is also integrated to provide ±40kV ESD Human Body Model (HBM) protection for the driver outputs and receiver inputs (A and B data lines).
