The TMCS1101A4UQDRQ1 is a galvanically isolated Hall effect current sensor capable of measuring DC or AC current with high accuracy, excellent linearity and temperature stability. The low-drift, temperature-compensated signal chain achieves < 1.5% full-scale error over the temperature range of the device.
Input current flows through an internal 1.8mΩ conductor, which generates a magnetic field that can be measured by an integrated Hall effect sensor. This eliminates the need for an external concentrator and simplifies the design. Low conductor resistance minimises power loss and heat dissipation. Inherent galvanic insulation provides 600V lifetime operating voltage and 3kVRMS basic isolation between the current path and the circuit. Integrated electrical shielding provides excellent common mode rejection and transient immunity.
The output voltage is proportional to the input current and features four sensitivity options. The fixed sensitivity allows the TMCS1101-Q1 to operate from a single 3V to 5.5V supply, thus eliminating proportionality errors and improving supply noise rejection. Current polarity is considered positive when current flows into the positive input pin. Unidirectional and bidirectional detection models are available.
