The ACS733KLATR-20AB is a new generation of high-bandwidth current sensor ICs from Allegro.These devices provide a compact, fast, and accurate solution for high-frequency current measurements in DC-DC converters and other switching power supply applications.The ACS733KLATR-20AB offers high isolation, high-bandwidth current sensing based on the Hall effect, as well as user-configurable overcurrent fault detection.

These features make them ideally suited to replace high frequency transformers and current transformers in applications operating at high voltages.The ACS733KLATR-20ABs are suitable for use in all markets including automotive, industrial, commercial and communication systems. They can be used in motor control, load detection and management, switched-mode power supplies, and overcurrent fault protection applications.

The wide-body SOIC-16 package is easy to implement. The applied current flowing through the copper conduction path generates a magnetic field, which is sensed by the IC and converted to a proportional voltage. The current is sensed differentially to suppress the external common mode magnetic field. Since the magnetic field is very close to the Hall sensor, the accuracy of the device is optimised. Hall integrated circuits provide precise proportional voltages and are factory programmed for high accuracy after packaging. The fully integrated package features an internal copper conductive path with a typical resistance of 1 mΩ, which reduces power loss.
